My heart lay here wounded and bleeding,
Knowing that my Father is simply weeding…
To make me the woman He wants me to be…
And to help me see,
My dreams and thoughts are not the best,
So through this fire, He continues to test…
The pain is intense and I cannot stand…
Only by His grace and by His hand,
He has asked me to let go of all I dream
And to me, cruel it does seem,
But He is good and loves more than I know,
So all I can do is trust and just let go.
It’s a scary thing, to let go of my dream
And from my eyes the tears do stream
My heart feels as though it will burst
And I feel like I am none but cursed
But Abba comes and holds me near
Even though the reason is not clear
It’s hard to trust when I hurt like this.
Like the betrayal of the enemy’s kiss
But it’s all I have left, the end of me
And I only pray that He helps me see
The reason for this pain
And that my heart it will not stain
Only He can love me the way I need.
And I will live in that creed.
