Lists

I love to make lists. I write grocery lists. I come up with to-do lists. I even have a list of books I want to read. The problem with lists is two-fold for me.

1) I lose them.
2) I just don't stick with them, I like to be more flexible than a list allows for.

Last week, I made a list of things I need to do as I get ready to leave Iowa in 27ish days. My mom seemed impressed that I had actually written one up. But do you know where that list is now? Yeah, neither do I.

Welcome to my world. I get things done, but not always in the manner that others think I should. :)

So as the chaos of transition begins, I just pray for the sanity to get through it. Now is about the time that I start forgetting things left and right (where did that list go?), followed by many goodbyes, and then finally the official packing day and heading out.

I love a good adventure and I think this month is the final breath before the plunge into an adventure I have hoped for for some time. God has been good to me...at times I wasn't so sure about that, but looking back, I see it clear as day. I'm excited for what is next, regardless of how hard it may be at times.

  • You and I inherited that list gene--and the losing it part--and the not sticking to them part. Oh, dear. But life goes on. The glory of making a list and not finding it is that b/c you wrote it down once, it often still sticks in your head.
