Inside the Church

Today our pastor called for volunteers to come and help gut the church. First priority-pull up the carpet that is holding the water to hopefully avoid mold setting in as fast. I think they had a bigger turn out than anyone would have hoped for...hundreds of people came out to lend a hand. It was amazing to work shoulder to shoulder with people I had seen but never met - and some I had never even seen before. God is good...our church is healthier than ever, even if the building is all but destroyed.

Looking out the music room window. There is still a lot of water out there.

Pulling up the carpet. Hard work as you can see. Pulling this way...

...And then that way. These boys are using every ounce of muscle they have.

Waterlogged items lay scattered on every floor.

The couch didn't fare well either.

Our sanctuary...gutted and drying.

The old chapel - being torn apart and the carpet up.

The building will be a skeleton before its over.

The insides of the Parkview Church building.

And the carpet from the building.

More insides.

  • Wow. That's about all I have to say. Besides a few tears.

But on the other hand. True beauty is shown in God's people coming together. That is His meaning of church.
