Not sure that I would say that in those specific words. Since cover letters talk about your abilities and accomplishments to prove that you can do the job you are applying for you are technically saying "choose me" in a more professional manner. Glad to hear that you are looking for jobs in the home town and working with people from other languages!! Love/Steph
I think "Choose me...please!" might show how considerate and polite you are :)...of course it does have a hint of desperation too...I guess it depends on how desperate they are too :) -Brad

Heehee. I think it would be stinking AWESOME if it were the right job that called for some serious creativity or unique personality.
I would write "choose me....I'm pretty sure that God and I agree I am the right one for this job..."
