Another Saturday in the Library
It's a positively beautiful day outside. My Hawks are playing today. But its utterly cold in this library where I sit working on homework that I have fallen behind on and wondering where I should go to do my laundry. I was thankful for the morning...I got to sleep in. I forgot just how much I look forward to Saturdays when I have to teach all week.
"Many are the plans in a man's heart,
but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails."
Proverbs 19:21
Sometimes people talk about the "will of God" and being in it. But the question that is running through my mind lately is how do you know when something hard is God's will that you just need to push through or when it is just you being too prideful and stubborn to admit that you cannot do it. There is a difference between stubbornness and perseverance...but it is a fine line and I seriously wonder on which side of it I am walking.

I often wonder that exact same thing.
Some day you should come do laundry at my house. :) (Just no more than two loads at a time cos of the septic system ... ;))

When God has opened the door, He will provide the strength to do it..it may not be easy, but He will provide the way.

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained.
Philippians 3:12-16

Sara...it would be easy to give you quaint scripture verses either out of context or that don't apply to your specific situation...I've always seemed to be able to do that well :-(. When it boils down to it...I think nothing is outside of God's sovereignty if we are truly seeking Him & His glory...even if we are somehow in the wrong. He has an amazing way of turning even the most off the wall...seemingly outside his will situations into His glory...Goes to prove His greatness! I blogged a poem used by E Elliott on June 27 of this year that at one point in time I was seeking God's will about a lot of stuff...it was titled "do the next thing" If you are seeking God's glory...it's easier for Him to turn a moving wheel sister. If at some point you find yourself convinced through prayer/consel/God's word that the road you're traveling is the wrong path...swallow the pride and let Him turn the wheel :-)...til then press on. :-) I'll be praying for ya! It's really cool to be able to keep up with yer life...God bless! - Brad
