What is this utensil?

  • It's a spatula although my mom refers to it as a pancake turner because when she grew up a spatula was a thin flat piece of metal with a handle.

  • mostly i call it a spatula, but have been known to call it a pancake turner also. my mom always used both terms--pancake turner was to distinguish it from the rubber spatula, I believe.
